Dr. Jim Haber has been walking since AIDS Walk Boston’s inception, but his commitment to AIDS Action’s cause was strengthened in 1992 when his brother, Buddhist monk Donge Zedo John Haber, died of complications due to AIDS. Now Jim walks with his family ever year in honor of his brother.
Jim can’t imagine missing a Walk, so when last year he was living in Paris on sabbatical during the event, he decided to bring AIDS Walk Boston to the “City of Light.” He mapped out a 10K route, donned one of his AIDS Walk Boston t-shirts, and hit the streets of Paris on Sunday, June 3rd, 2007. His tour took him past many famous Parisian landmarks including the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, the Sainte Chapelle, and of course, the Eiffel Tower. A few of his amazing pictures can be seen below.
Last year, Jim helped make AIDS Walk Boston a global event! This year, he is back in Boston and will walk the real course through Boston, Cambridge, and Brookline. To visit Jim’s fundraising page and to see a picture of his brother, click here.
