National HIV Testing Day

June 19th, 2009 · Posted by Cathy · No Comments

Spread the word: June 27th is National HIV Testing Day.  HIV testing is one of the basic steps in stopping the epidemic.  Here at AIDS Action Committee, administering HIV tests allows us to counsel and support those who test positive and educate those who test negative on how to stay that way.  Encourage your friends and family to get tested!

Here are some ways to support National HIV Testing Day, brought to you by www.healthfinder.gov:

  1. Share the importance of getting tested for HIV.  Learn the basics, discover the benefits of being tested, and find ways to take action to protect your health.
  2. Send an e-card to friends and family to remind them of National HIV Testing Day.
  3. Spend nine and a half minutes sharing your story.  The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) invites you to join the Act Against AIDS  campaign by sharing your story at the 9 1/2 minutes website.
