Protect your packageThe current issue of HIV Plus Mag talks about the need to re-emphasize a specifically “gay” marketing campaign with respect to HIV prevention.  Jim Picket from the AIDS Foundation of Chicago points out that up to now, the approach has been “the politically expedient path of of pushing a generalized epidemic in which ‘we are all at risk’”.

I frequently encounter the perception from people outside the community that HIV is primarily spread through dirty needles “nowadays” with the implication being that gay folks have “learned better” and moved on.
