Matt Belcher
E.C. Consultant - Hotlines Program
AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts
Matt has worked with the Hotlines program at AIDS Action since 2004, first as a volunteer, then as an intern, and currently in a consulting position for the development of the Massachusetts Emergency Contraception Hotline. In addition to hotline counseling and contributing research and documentation to the Hotlines program, Matt has co-facilitated AIDS Action’s new volunteer orientations since July 2006.
Matt recently completed an associates degree program at Bunker Hill Community College majoring in Human Services, and plans to continue his schooling with a focus on independent social work with specialization in LGBT and HIV related issues.
He is also a trained college writing tutor, and graduate of Boston’s Improv Asylum training center, where he learned a bevy of valuable skills such as “complementary teamwork, thinking on your feet, and how to pretend you’re carrying and pouring a teapot when you’re actually not.”
